Today's Summer learning journey activity was to complete a slideshow full of math magic tricks. For example, you had to choose a number and then you had to do certain things to that number to always end up with the same number. It was easy since the maths part wasn't that hard. Magnificent Mandala

Today for the Summer Learning Journey our task was to make a mandala. A mandala is a piece of art that is usually made outdoors and it is temporary so it will eventually go away. We got a choice whether to do it digitally or outdoors, I chose outdoors. This activity was fun, quick, and easy. I think you should give it a go. Have you ever made a mandala? What materials did you use?

 

Kiwi Innovators

This week we have been working on Kiwi Innovators. My product is a compressed face mask that expands once you spray a fragrance. We had to make a new product and make a logo for your business a poster an ad and a script. We also had to work out how much it costs to make your product and how much you'd sell and profit from it which was the hard part for me. Have you made an invention of your own? What was it?

For reading, we did a novel study. For my novel study, I chose wonder as my book. It was easy because the book wasn't that hard. My favorite thing about the book has to be how it says the same story but from different perspectives. Have you done a novel study? What was the book you did it on?

On Thursday for cyber smart, we made a game on scratch. I made a pong game where you have to not let the ball touch the red line. It was easy because the tutorials helped a lot. Here is a link to the website I used. Have you used scratch? What did you make?

This week for maths we are doing temperature. We had to make a poster about the three ways to measure temperature. It was easy since there were many websites that explained it. What was/is your favourite subject in math?

Today we were writing an explanation report on why we should keep Marshland School clean. It was really easy since we did a brainstorm first which always makes it easier to write.  What do you do to keep your school clean?

Magnificent Maori Kupu

 

Kia ora nga tangata katoa,

Last week was te wiki o te Maori, Maori language week. We had to make an animation about Maori kupu we had to choose a scene and add labels. I got all the translations from Maori dictionary. It was easy because the Maori words were easy to find. What Maori words do you know?

This past week I have been working on fractions it was easy since there was an algorithm for most of the questions. Some of the questions were easy while other where hard but I still haven't finished it yet . What are you learning for your math? What is your favourite subject in math?

Today in literacy we did instructions on how to make paper planes. I decided to do mine as a video with pictures and instructions. It was easy because paper planes are an easy thing to make. Have you made paper planes? did this video help?

This week in literacy we have been learning how to write instructions. It was pretty easy writing the instructions because there were very easy steps. One of the things we wrote about was how to make a burger. Have you ever followed a recipe did you notice the same features that were in the video?

Positive Plastic Pollution

This term our inquiry has been based on how can you show your emotions and thoughts through art. We had four main ideas art, music, dance, and movies. We had to choose a message that we believed in to promote like stop bullying, disability is a different ability, etc. I ended up choosing Plastic Pollution because I have been interested in it for a few years. It was fun making samples of the same message but in different forms. I especially liked making the rap. What message are you passionate about?

In Inquiry, we have been learning about how to use SISOMO sound, sight, and motion. In this video, I Have made an ad about all the cool things at Marshland school. My group and I  decided to do the video about all the sports areas and courts we have. It was pretty cold outside while we were filming but it was fun editing and adding cool features to the video. In The End - a short story

 

Kia ora bloggers Today in Literacy we read am online book called In The End by Mal Peet. We had to answer questions to understand the book better. I made a doc and answered the questions. It was kinda hard since I had to google a few things. I got all the info from the book. If you are interested in war and comics, I would recommend checking it out. What is your favourite book?
